Island Veterinary Care

Dr. Rachael Lau joined the family practice in 2016. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, she traveled to Cambridge, Massachusetts where she earned her undergraduate Biology degree & Mandarin Citation from Harvard University. Between undergraduate and graduate school, she taught English and SAT prep in Shanghai, China and volunteered at a veterinary hospital in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Returning to the States, she graduated Cum Laude from Colorado State University’s veterinary school.   There she earned a Veterinary Ophthalmology excellence award and is part of the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society. Dr. Rachael completed additional training to become certified in Veterinary Acupuncture.​

 

Following graduation, she completed a one year intensive small animal surgery and medicine rotating internship at one of the largest animal hospitals in Los Angeles, VCA West Los Angeles.  

 

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, playing soccer, hiking, traveling, cooking and taking care of her two dogs Rocky and Ruby.
