Christine Lau- Practice Manager

Christine Lau is a graduate of Maryknoll High School and the University of Hawaii. She has worked in the veterinary field for over 30 years. She helped her husband, Dr. Bert Lau, build their practice, Island Veterinary Care LLC (previously Oahu Veterinary House Calls), while raising their three children. She is excited to now work with daughter, Dr. Rachael Lau, who has joined the practice.

Her role as practice manager is to handle client communications, account management, human resources, and front office responsibilities.


Christine has been an active volunteer and past president of the following organizations: Junior League of Honolulu, the Friends of the University of Hawaii Jabsom Medical School, and the Punahou Parent Faculty Association.  She also served as the co-chair of the Punahou Carnival in 2004. She is an avid traveler and lover of great cuisine. Her explorations include adventures in the USA as well as visits to countries in Asia, Europe and South America.

Adrienne- Technician

Adrienne graduated from the University of Hawaii with a BA in Zoology. She loves working hands on with all types of animals and finds it gratifying to help families who love their pets. She enjoys spending her free time with family and friends, cooking, and watching the Dallas Cowboys. She has a dog named Boomerang and a cat named Tucker.

Christina- Customer Service Representative

Born and raised on Oahu, Christina graduated from Kalani high school and attended Kapiolani Community College where she majored in Liberal Arts. She always had a passion for caring for animals, starting out as a volunteer at  the Hawaiian Humane Society and The Honolulu Zoo.  In her career over the past 15 years, she has gained knowledge and experience in the companion animal veterinary field by performing veterinary assistant, technician, reception, and managerial duties.. When not at work she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend while taking care of their 2 rats "Brownie" and "Oreo" as well her Scottish Fold cat "Dini".

Carlyn- Customer Service Representative

From a young age, Carlyn has always had a love of animals, from bringing home strays to adopting dogs that need a little extra care.  She joins us with over 30 years experience in the animal industry, first working at boarding kennel in high school, a pet store, veterinary hospitals and even a distributor of veterinary supplies.  For the last 23 years she has worked at Kapalama Pet Hospital, until Dr. Hirata retired in 2019.   She loves to spend time with her family, cooking and cuddling with her hairless Chinese Cresteds, Paris, Wink and Wiggles.

Sariah- Veterinary Assistant 

Sariah graduated from Windward Community College with her certificate in Veterinary Assisting. She is currently pursuing an associate's degree in veterinary technology at Windward Community College so that she may become a licensed Veterinary Technician one day. Ms. Kaakimaka stays active by surfing, hunting and jogging.  She loves to take her Great Dane Kāne to the beach, on long walks and on hikes.
