COVID-19 IVC Policy Update

Reviewed: 04/05/24

Dear Island Veterinary Care, LLC friends and O'hana,

We have transitioned to a hybrid curbside/in person schedule. If you would like to be present for your appointment, please let our front office staff know when booking. There are limited in person time slots available.

Current Hours

As of 12/11/23, our hours of operation will be Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri: 7:30 a -6:00 p, Saturday 7:30a-1p. We will be closed on Wednesday and Sunday.  We will close daily from 12:00 p- 1:30 p for lunch and will be unavailable for phone calls, medication pick up or patient drop off/pick up. If you have an emergency during this 1.5 hour time, please call 808-368-0655. We are still available for after hours emergencies.

Please wear a mask

We ask that all clients wear a face mask that covers your nose and mouth when entering our hospital for your appointment and when conversing with front office staff during pickup/drop offs, medication pick up and check out.

Curbside service
In an effort to keep everyone – you, your pet, and our staff – safe and healthy, we will continue curbside or drop off service for our clients. Please call us at 944-0003 upon your arrival, and we will send a team member to transport your pet from your car into the hospital as well as to bring your food and medications to you.

For scheduled while-you-wait appointments, we will call you on your cell phone to discuss your pet's recent history and share the veterinarian's findings while you wait in the comfort of your car. Please make sure your pet is safely restrained with a leash or in a crate/carrier.

If you prefer not to wait, you may also drop your pet off with us. Our doctor will examine your pet and we will contact you when your pet is ready to go home. Please call ahead for availability to use this option.

Medication / Supplies Pick Up:

Please allow 24 hours minimum between an order and filling of your prescription or medications. To streamline service, we are able to process payment over the phone. An invoice can be provided as a hardcopy with your items or emailed to you. Due to disruptions in the supply chain, some medications are unavailable or take longer to arrive. If you are running low on medications, give us ample time to place an order for a refill.

IMPORTANT:
If you are feeling at all unwell, may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 and have an in person appointment, call us at 944-0003 for further instruction. We may ask that you:

- Drop off your pet

-Arrange for a healthy friend or family member to bring your pet in, or
- If your pet is scheduled for a wellness or non-urgent visit and isn’t sick, please call us to reschedule your appointment.

We have always exercised extensive daily cleaning protocols that keep our facilities clean and sanitary. In addition to our regular cleaning, we have also added additional disinfecting protocols for extra protection, per the CDC's recommendations. Our staff and doctors are healthy, fully vaccinated and boosted and have no known exposure to COVID-19.

Thank you very much for working with us while we find ways to continue caring for our patients while keeping everyone healthy and safe. Please call us as we would be happy to answer any questions!
